Swadhinote Shikkhok Parishad shows concerns over the harassment of NSTU teachers
The Swadhinota shikkok Parishad (Pro-independence Teachers' Council) of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) has expressed concern over the disrespectful behavior towards Al Amin Sikder, a teacher in the Department of Management and Information Systems (MIS), and an employee of the same department. At the same time, the council leaders have drawn the attention of the concerned authorities to resolve the unpleasant incident.
A statement on June 3 (Friday) said, "It is very embarrassing for us as part of the teacher community to have an unfortunate incident with a respected teacher at the university." In addition to this, the normal environment of education in the department has been disrupted due to the boycott of classes and examinations of students demanding justice for the accused employees.
It also said, "NSTU Swadhinata Shikkhak Parishad is concerned about the situation. Swadhinata Shikkhak Parishad is always uncompromising on the question of honor and dignity of all teachers irrespective of personal philosophy, belief, political ideology. In order to preserve the beautiful environment of education, it is necessary to maintain friendly relations between students, teachers, officials and employees. In this situation, the leaders requested the university administration to resolve the issue at the earliest considering the overall situation in resolving the complexities created in the beloved institution.
On May 29, 2022, an employee of Noakhali Science and Technology University was accused of disrespecting Al Amin Sikder, a teacher in the same department. The students of the department boycotted the class-examination demanding the trial of the accused employee.
